About

David, Rose, Edward and Ben are currently living in Tregony near Truro in Cornwall.

This blog started when, in 2005, David, Rose and Edward moved to Australia and told stories of life ‘down under’. However, since 2016 it has been on hold as the family settle back into life in the UK.

Now that the world is in uncharted territory with the advent of COVID-19, I have decided to resurrect the blog.

We have all been told to stay at home and to shop as little as possible and I have had a number of requests for my recipes (such as sourdough bread and noodles) that I make at home. This is a useful space to list out some of the various foods our family enjoy and maybe it will inspire some people to ‘give it a go’.

If you find them useful (or not), we would love to hear from you; so, please leave messages and comments.

Who am I?

Until recently, Dr David Ashe was a Research Fellow in the Centre for Research on Learning and Innovation (CRLI) in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney and taught ICT in both the Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching programs (Introduction to Computers in Education, Information Technology in Education and ICT Skills for Undergraduates). In addition to teaching, David worked as part of a team of researchers investigating how to design better tools and resources for networked online learning, so that students at all levels, whatever their educational environment, can play a significant role in improving how, where and what they learn.

David and his family are now based in Cornwall (UK). Our boys are settling well into UK schools and we are enjoying being back in the UK after 12 years away. We are still not sure what the future holds; but, for now, we are here in Tregony.
